3 President System, Isn't Working...

Hang On People! The Election is Almost Over.
Bush is still the President, but no one seems to care. It's all about strategy right now. Terrible timing...

I'm gonna leave my "tectonic shift" speech at the door. I'm not going to type about some of my "complete overhaul" thoughts, about our government. This kind of talk isn't going to do anything positive right now. It's election time, and that's all that matters out there.

All I can say today is, GET THIS ELECTION OVER WITH! Not only the presidential campaign, but every congressional race in the country. Our Representatives have re-election on the mind, and we apparently can't get over this fact.

Another reason we need it to end, is so the talking heads on cable news (and network news), will stop this blame, blame, blame, blame, blame, blame game. If you know me, you know I love politics, but this stuff on t.v. and the 'net, makes it hard to watch. News shows/corps, are building flippin' cults, for Pete's sake.

We're almost there, folks.

Number 5, Is USC's Quarterback...

Let Dude, Do His Thing...

He's not perfect, on or off the field. Having said this, Coach Spurrier should leave Garcia on the field for a while, and let him do his thing.

Garcia came off the bench, and went 13 / 20, for 131 yards. He threw for 1 TD, and 1 Int. He also ran for 86 yards for another TD.

The stats aren't stellar, but they are at least something to work with. Garcia brings skills, and intangibles to the field. First, he has more zip on his ball than Smelley and Beecher. His balls just have more pop to 'em. Second, he has a knack to pushing the ball up the field, not just sideline to sideline. Third, he brings the crowd into the game. Whenever we see No. 5 run to the huddle, the crowd steps it up about 5 notches.

Leave him in, Coach. Let's see if a little swagger, can lead to a few more touchdowns.

Stephen, don't go down to 5 Points and screw it all up...

This Fella Needs Some Hug'Aays.

Raising Arizona Hits Home...At TarJey'
Not too long ago, this fella was caught at Target. The second this picture was sent to me, I thought of the fella with the pantie on his head, stealing Huggies.

In a few hours, my friend is going to have a little girl. With 9 months of conversation, evaluation and petrification, he's ready.

Congratulations, dad. You're gonna be great. We're ready to put the "Golden Seed" in the baby seat, and head to the beach.

In case you forgot, we are on for golf at 10:25 on Saturday. We're now playin' for a box of Hug'Aays. :-)

Wales Garden Home Is For Sale

228 Wateree Ave. Hits The Market
This 4 bedroom/2.5 bath home, boast 3,000 sq. ft., in the middle of one of Columbia's favorite (and quietest) streets.

The home has hardwoods and smooth ceilings throughout. The living areas downstairs are quite large, as the home sets up nicely for entertaining. A rare (for the area) open kitchen opens up to a ginormous great room/den, that features a tall, dramatic vaulted ceiling.

Other than a Wateree address, perhaps the greatest part of the home, is that a vacant lot sits directly beside it. Yes, I had to see for myself, too. The lot already has its own tax map number, should someone decide to build a lovely home one day.

For now, the lot serves as a large boxwood garden which was formed and planted by the Columbia Garden Club years ago. The vacant lot is identical in size to the occupied lot.

Adjacent to 5 Points, Wales Garden is one of Columbia's premiere neighborhoods. Known to some as "The River Streets," it is also one of Columbia's oldest. Stroll a block towards the University, and you will find yourself at an old horse fountain. Pretty cool.

The home and vacant lot, are offered for $837,500.

What In The World Is Going On?

Well..., I guess "Business Happens."
Three of America's biggest brands have either gone bankrupt, or purchased, in the last few months.

I realize, business happens. For anyone born in the '70's,...we're not used to this. Anyone born when I was, doesn't know anything else than America being #1, in everything. When companies like this fall, it's pretty incomprehensible.

Having said this, I guess we'd better grow up and recognize that nothing is impenatrable, and everything is "on the table".

Ike Effects Columbia Stations Tonight

U.S. Refinery District Up Ike Creek, Without a Paddle
When I was showing a house today, my clients dad told me that a gas wholesaler was having trouble finding gas in Bamberg. Needless to say, I filled up on the way back from King's Grant.

Within two hours, 4 people texted/emailed me that gas stations around Columbia had capped them, at 10 gallons per car. My brother reported that the Sam's pumps were completely packed.
Someone else reported that they watched prices spike $.50, while they were sitting in the parking lot.

I happened to drive by Young's on Devine St. tonight, and the pumps were packed at 10:00 and 11:30 pm.

Below, is part of a FOXNews.com excerpt; Not a good report.

We'll see what happens on Friday, and over the weekend. Having said all of this, I'm glad I filled up, before the oil hits the big fan in the gulf. FJ

FOXNews.com; The oil and gas industry was closely watching the storm because it was headed straight for the nation's biggest complex of refineries and petrochemical plants. The upper Texas coast accounts for one-fifth of U.S. refining capacity.

Wholesale gasoline prices spiked 30 percent Thursday, or nearly $1 a gallon, out of fear of what Ike might do. That means motorists can expect higher prices at the pump, though how much higher depends largely on how long refineries are shuttered after the storm.

Exxon Mobil Corp., Valero Energy Corp., ConocoPhillips and Marathon Oil Co. began halting operations as Ike closed in. Dow Chemical Co. started closing up its enormous Freeport complex, home to 75 plants producing some 27 billion pounds of chemical products each year.

USC Fans Are Great; This Guy Sucks

ESPN Catches This Dude In Low Class Video (Saw this Pic on FitsNews)

We love our Gamecocks, and we know we're in the best class in the country (SEC).

Having said that, this dude has ZERO class as the N.C. State quarterback, is wheeled out of Williams-Brice.

Hey fella, how's the view from the cheap seats? If you think you're man enough to put on the battle bonnet, and go toe to toe with supreme athletes in front of 80,000 fans, get on it. Otherwise, keep your fingers to yourself.

I know you want to be Jordan and Tiger, and step on opponents throats, but this isn't the way to do it. We may not be the "class" of the football world (yet), but we'd at least like to be considered a classy football family.

I guess you were crunk up. Who knows? Next time you see a guy wheeled off in a stretcher, don't flick him off.

Throw Coach Bowden a Lifeline!

Bowden Calls Coach Saban. Wut!?

Clemson coach, Tommy Bowden, swallowed his pride and called Nick Saban for advice. And Mark Richt. And Frank Beamer. And his father. He said their feedback will help him help the team regroup after the loss to Alabama. myespn.go.com

What in the world? Is Coach Bowden, ok? Is he a pride swallower, or just a plain donky donk?

Contrary to most of my Gamecock ultra fans, I think Bowden can get it done at Clemson. However, after about 10 years of upstate disappointment, I may be wrong.

What is this call all about? IPTAY boosters must be APPALLED!...

Coach Bowden,... it's Ok. You're gonna be Ok. It's simple. Don't put SEC schools on your schedule. No biggie. You'll be fine....promise.

Wow.

Republicans should just leave Mrs. McCain up there.

Folks are always talking about how attractive Cindy McCain is. I never really understood it...until now!

I don't care if you prefer R's or D's, Cindy McCain was stunning today.
